Privacy Policy

Vocabulary Daily Words ("the App") is developed and operated by Aleksandrs Visnakovs ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to function with minimal data collection — we do not require an account, and we do not collect or store any personal information on our servers.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Do Not Provide

The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number to use the App.

1.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device using Apple's standard storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and SwiftData). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

Your word difficulty preference
Words you have viewed (archive history)
Words you have saved to favourites
Notification preferences and schedule
App theme preference
Onboarding completion status

This data is stored solely on your device and in your personal iCloud backup (if enabled). We have no access to it.

1.3 Subscription and Purchase Data

If you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives:

An anonymous user identifier (generated by RevenueCat, not linked to your identity)
Purchase and subscription status information provided by Apple
Device type and operating system version

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, Apple ID, or payment details. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

1.4 Crash Reports and Diagnostics

We use Sentry, a third-party error-tracking service, to collect anonymous crash reports. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Sentry receives:

Device type, operating system version, and app version
Technical information about the crash (stack traces, error messages)
Timestamp of the crash

Crash reports do not contain personal information, your word history, saved words, or any content you interact with in the App. For more information, see Sentry's Privacy Policy.

1.5 Information We Do Not Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:

No names, email addresses, or contact information
No location data
No photos, contacts, or calendar data
No browsing history or search queries
No advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking
No analytics about which words you view, save, or listen to

2. How We Use Information

The limited data described above is used solely for the following purposes:

Data	Purpose
Local device data	To provide core App functionality (show your word, track history, save favourites)
RevenueCat data	To verify your subscription status and unlock premium features
Sentry crash reports	To identify and fix technical issues in the App

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other commercial purpose.

Data is shared only with the third-party services described above (RevenueCat and Sentry), strictly for the purposes stated, and governed by their respective privacy policies.

4. Data Retention

Local data: Stored on your device until you delete the App or clear its data.
RevenueCat data: Retained according to RevenueCat's data retention policy.
Sentry crash reports: Automatically deleted after 90 days.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

As we are based in Latvia (European Union), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. You have the following rights:

Right of access: You may request information about what data we process about you. Since we do not collect personal data, there is generally nothing to disclose.
Right to erasure: You may delete all local data by uninstalling the App. For RevenueCat or Sentry data, contact us and we will request deletion on your behalf.
Right to data portability: As we do not maintain user accounts or databases of personal data, this right is generally not applicable.
Right to object: You may disable crash reporting by contacting us.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App does not collect personal information from any user, no special provisions for children's data are required.

7. Security

All data stored on your device is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID). Subscription data transmitted to RevenueCat is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS encryption.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
